Business Clients

Welcome!
I help business clients of all types, from medical companies to flower shops. I can help you by reviewing your documents for grammar, typos, clarity, and even effectiveness. I do quick look-overs of content for typos as well as deep dives for tone, style, clarity, and overall message. Newsletters, websites, and social media posts are a few of the things I can review. Here are a few more:

Why Hire an Editor

Sometimes, we miss things when we're writing. Maybe it's "damn" instead of "dam" or "its" instead of "it's." In business communications, it does not matter how small the mistake is -- someone is going to notice it. A second pair of eyes (that's me!) can help catch errors that you may not catch the first time around, whether it's a link that does not work in your newsletter or a misspelled word.

Take for example an update I got from a restaurant recently. Since we're in a pandemic, the business switched to online ordering. The email included a menu and a link to "order here" only the "order here" was just words: the owner had forgotten to include the link. Once a mistake is sent out in a newsletter or email, it can be hard to fix. In this situation the options are 1) Send an email acknowledging the mistake, 2) Eat the mistake, knowing that it may result in lost business, or 3) Send a duplicate email with the appropriate link and hope people think there was a server error and that they just got the same email twice. This is where an editor comes in: An editor can help you by catching these errors the first time.

I love nothing more than combing over websites, newsletters, and emails to make sure every link works, every word is spelled correctly, and every phone number and address is the right phone number and address. In addition to catching errors, I can help you by making sure your materials are engaging, clear, and in the tone you want for the audience you are targeting.

Rates

My hourly fee for business editing is $125. Here's how that plays out: a client looking to have her daily Facebook post reviewed for typos and grammar would likely pay $2-4 per post ($60-$120/month). A client looking to have his 10-page business report reviewed in-depth for wording, tone, and clarity would likely be charged somewhere around $125. For a free quote on your specific project, drop me a note.

Local Solutions for Local Business Owners

I also accept trade, in the event a client has something of equal value to offer. For more information on what I trade and who I trade with visit my FAQ.
